Former President Barack Obama has made a habit of sharing playlists ahead of major events. This time, the occasion is the release of his new book, "A Promised Land," and the list features "some memorable songs from my administration," Obama said in a tweet.

Which songs has he chosen? There are two Beyoncé tracks (including her cover of "At Last," the Obamas' first Inaugural Ball dance song), Eminem's "Lose Yourself" (which Obama memorably played to get pumped up before his 2016 Democratic National Convention speech), songs from Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Gloria Estefan (who were all honored by Obama with the Presidential Medal of Freedom) and The Beatles track "Michelle" (which Paul McCartney performed at the White House for the former first lady when he received the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize from Obama).

The new playlist is only 20 tracks, making it much shorter than Obama's recent Summer DNC playlist, which is more than twice as long. But there should be enough tunes to get interested readers in the mood for Obama's "A Promised Land," out Tuesday. The book is the first volume of his presidential memoirs and candidly tells the story of Obama's ascent to the White House.

Author Stephen King, who received the National Medal of Arts and the National Humanities Medal from Obama in 2015, has suggested some additional songs for the playlist.

"Great list, but kinda mellow," King tweeted in a reply to Obama. "How about some James Brown and Jerry Lee Lewis."

For a collection of more upbeat tracks, we recommend Michelle Obama's 2020 Workout Playlist, which features songs by Lizzo, Cardi B and Nipsey Hussle.
