If you like seeing people get yelled at, good news.

Bar Rescue returns this weekend with new episodes.

For the first time since May, Paramount will air a new episode of the show on Sunday at 10 p.m. following a marathon of shows that begins at 7 a.m.

Bar Rescue Season 9

Believe it or not, the series began in 2011, and since then, expert Jon Taffer and his staff have recorded 250 episodes, and all but one has made air.

That doesn't mean they've saved all of them. Some were deemed unfixable because the owners weren't willing to give up their vision of the bar. And one episode never aired because of that.

Strangely, that was one of two episodes that involved bars from New Jersey.

Bar Rescue season premiere

Sunday's first episode is called "Deadliest Kitchen," and is described as "an owner who dedicates her life to a bar with a dangerously dirty kitchen and untrained staff."

The episode deals with a bar in Gilbert, Arizona.

Who is Jon Taffer?

If you only watch the show, you might think he's a maniac who just yells, throws food, pours drinks on people and just seems like a guy you wouldn't want to deal with.

But he does have a track record. He's owned 17 hospitality businesses in his life. And as much as he believes drinks need to be well-balanced, wings need to be properly cooked and buildings need to be presentable, he also thinks the bar biz is about people.

"I'm all about personality," Taffer told People when talking about his bar Taffer's Tavern in 2022. "You show me somebody who has the right personality, who's never worked in a restaurant before and I'll show you a great employee. Because it's all about connectivity in the restaurant business and in Taffer's Tavern, we employ unbelievable technologies in the back of the house to cook foods and provide consistency and quality. But in the front of the house, there are no tablets to order from. I am a big believer in connectivity."

How to watch Bar Rescue

Episodes of Bar Rescue are available on Paramount On Demand, with most of the library available on Paramount+.

Bar Rescue in New Jersey

New Jersey must have great bars because only twice has the show come to the Garden State.

Neither was a success.

South Park Bar and Grill, Montclair

In 2011, Taffer tried to save the South Park Bar and Grill in Montclair but was unsuccessful due to conflicts with the owner. The bar wasn't rescued, it eventually closed and lost its liquor license.

Laguna Lounge, Jersey City

In 2014, Taffer and his troops tried to save the Jersey City bar Laguna Lounge. The episode featured the experts changing the name of the bar, but it didn't sit well with the owner. Shortly after it was changed to "Tres Cuartos," it was changed back to its original name. The rescue wasn't successful, it closed a few years later.
