Priefer and Kunkel have worked extensively with Fremantle group UFA Fiction developing and producing such series as the 1990s-set crime-in-paradise drama The King of Palma for RTL+ and the real-estate fraud comedy Betonrausch (Rising High) for Netflix. Their most recent series is the dystopian drama Helgoland 513, which premiered on Sky Deutschland earlier this year.

“Veronica and Johannes have an impressive instinct for capturing the zeitgeist through powerful returning scripted series,” said Banijay Germany CEO Marcus Wolter. “We’re proud to invest in the future of these two creative minds who are known for their hands-on approach, and we warmly welcome them to Banijay Germany, as we continue our efforts in diversifying and expanding our content offering.”

Priefer and Kunkel praised Banijay’s “entrepreneurial flair and inspiration” and said they welcomed the support of the “wider group’s distribution operation” to sell their projects worldwide.

Dynamic Ally further bolters Banijay Germany’s scripted slate, which also includes Nanni Erben and Gunnar Juncken’s fiction label MadeFor Productions, producers, together with Brit group Kudos, of Sky’s thriller series Then You Run.
