Banijay Nordic’s Yellow Bird to Produce ‘A Life’s Worth’ Set Against the Bosnian War in 1990’s (EXCLUSIVE)

Banijay Nordic’s banner Yellow Bird is set to produce “A Life’s Worth,” a drama series inspired by real events within the Bosnian conflict in the 1990s. The show is being produced by Arte France and Viaplay Content Distribution which will also handle global sales.
“A Life’s Worth” is set in the fall of 1993, amid the devastating turmoil unfurling in Bosnia. Swedish U.N. soldiers embark on a perilous mission to bring peace to a fractured land. The series follows the journey of a group of young soldiers and their commander as they struggle with the complexities of war.

The show is headlined by a strong cast including Edvin Ryding (“Young Royals”), Maxwell Cunningham (“Top Dog”), Erik Enge (“Tigers”), Johan Rheborg (“Solsidan”) and Toni Prince (“Drugdealer”). Additional cast members include Lazar Dragojevic, Ivana Roscic, Alena Dzebo and Alban Ukaj.
“A Life’s Worth” was co-written by Mona Masri (“Easy Money”) and Oliver Dixon, and directed by Ahmed Abdullahi (“Top Dog”). It’s backed with funds from Creative Europe Media and Nordisk Film & TV Fond, and is inspired by the novel “A Life’s Worth” by Magnus Ernström. Yellow Bird’s CEO Jakob Feeney serves as executive producer, with Maida Krak as producer.
“‘A Life’s Worth’ offers an intimate portrayal of the challenges faced by those in the crossfire of combat,” said Maida Krak, Producer for Yellow Bird. “Inspired by actual events, it is one of the most courageous series we have produced, depicting the Swedish U.N. troops amidst an alarming conflict, while also delving into the dynamics of friendship and love in a powerless existence,” Krak continued.
Alexandre Piel, head of drama at Arte, says “this is a story that needs to be widely told, especially as it serves as a poignant reminder of how fragile our European continent can be.”
Yellow Bird’s credits include Jo Nesbø’s fast-paced corporate thriller “Headhunters” forCMore, a third run of crime drama “Bäckström,” as well as well-known hits “Threesome” and “The Truth Will Out.”
