All Bands on Deck fest is back with 100-plus free music gigs indoors and out in Green Bay this weekend
GREEN BAY - This weekend’s All Bands on Deck will bring more than 100 performances by local musicians to 19 bars, restaurants and food trucks throughout downtown’s South Broadway area.
It’s the third year for the Shipyard District Inc.’s free festival featuring sets performed on a mix of indoor and open-air stages. Music fans will see many familiar names, including Fun w/Atoms, Beach Patrol, The Raglanders, Brass Differential, Holly & The Nice Lions, The Chocolateers, Burnt Toast & Jam, Troy Heinz, Little Cisco, Gerry Sloan, Zoomie, and Acme Pickers. It’s also a chance to catch new artists across a wide spectrum of genres.
All Bands on Deck kicks off from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday with a performance by Big Mouth & The Power Tool Horns on The Weidner’s mobile stage under the Mason Street Bridge, where there will also be food trucks and a beer tent. Music on Friday begins at 6 p.m. It runs all day on Saturday beginning at noon until the final performances at 10 p.m.
This year’s fest marks the opening of At the Tracks, a new concert venue at 709 S. Broadway. Operated by the owners of The Tarlton Theatre, it will host local and touring acts, with 100% of the merchandise and ticket sales benefiting the bands. The Tarlton will continue to host larger concerts for audiences of 100-plus as well as arts and cultural programming.
At the Tracks will debut Friday night with sets by Dale Anderson (6 p.m.), Bob Balsley & Tarl Knight (7 p.m.), Banda Los Locales (8 p.m.), Beach Patrol (9 p.m.) and The Spencer Smet Band (11 p.m.).
On Saturday, the Shipyard Neighborhood Association will have an all-ages family stage, food trucks and a bounce house from noon to 3 p.m. at the park at 508 Eighth St.
