Emma Stone, Cillian Murphy, and more took home trophies for the British Academy’s highest film honors.

One year after ceremony host Ariana DeBose confirmed that Angela Bassett did, in fact, the thing — and as we prepare for the stateside Oscars — the 2024 BAFTA Awards has handed out its royal roster of accolades for the best films and performances of the year in the United Kingdom.

The British Academy revealed its annual winners on Sunday across a star-studded ceremony just under one month out from the Oscars, with this year's BAFTA nominees —like Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, Anatomy of a Fall, The Holdovers, and Poor Things — all scoring Best Film nominations as well as Best Picture nominations at the Academy Awards. Leading the pack Sunday, however, was Best Director champion Christopher Nolan's historical epic Oppenheimer, with seven overall victories — including Best Film, an award it's also likely to take at the Oscars on March 10.

Several front-running acting contenders in the current awards race also won big at the BAFTAs — including Emma Stone (Poor Things), Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer), Da'Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers), and Robert Downey Jr. (Oppenheimer) — and they're all likely to repeat this at the Oscars, as the groups share significant crossover membership.
