All the Badass A-Listers Speaking Out Against Alabama’s Anti-Abortion Law
Lady Gaga, Hailey Bieber, Bella Hadid and Alyssa Milano all have a message for Alabama and it centers around one common theme: my body, my choice.
After the state passed the strictest abortion bill in the country on Tuesday — essentially banning a woman’s right to an abortion at any stage, including victims of rape or incest — Hollywood’s A-list took to social media to vent their frustrations.
Jane Lynch, Sarah Silverman, Janelle Monae, Padma Lakshmi and several more joined in, voicing their frustrations on social media over the state’s ban on abortion.
Stars like Milla Jovovich and Busy Philipps even revealed intimate details about their own abortion experiences.
And it’s not just the women in Tinseltown who are speaking up for the rights of women. Chris Evans, Andy Cohen, and Patrick Schwarzenegger are among the men voicing their opinions against the abortion ban too.
If Alabama’s bill does not get blocked, any doctor who performs an abortion in the state will face a minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum of 99 to life. The only exception: a mother whose life is at risk if they give birth.
Here’s what the celebrities are saying:
#AlabamaAbortionBan #Alabama #AlabamaSenate #NoUterusNoOpinion #PlannedParenthood #ProChoice I love you Alabama prayers to all women and young girls here are my thoughts: pic.twitter.com/LqmVyV8qsA

Don’t move forward after reading this like everything is normal. Don’t shake your head at Alabama and then keep going about your day. Realize that this is a warning. It’s Alabama and abortion today. It’s you and your rights tomorrow. Your silence will not save you. So speak up. https://t.co/kIz78uAU1T

We have become our grandparents, shaking our heads & saying, “What is the world coming to” but we’re talking about the decay of human rights instead of rock and roll.

I know there are a lot of men out there who have partners who've had abortions. It's time for you to speak up and be allies. Women don't get pregnant alone.

This is my daughter. Her rights are human rights. #WomensRightsAreHumanRights pic.twitter.com/CHWeyfr4tM

This is absolutely unbelievable. If you’re not worried about roe v wade, you’re not paying attention. This is why voting matters!! https://t.co/gZ5lrj7tQ1

Make no mistake this is an all out war against women. We must unite. We must fight! #AbortionRights

1 in 4 women have had an abortion. Many people think they don't know someone who has, but #youknowme. So let's do this: if you are also the 1 in 4, let's share it and start to end the shame. Use #youknowme and share your truth.

If men got pregnant there would be walk in abortion clinics on every corner~ birth control would be sold in pharmacy dispensers, corporations would include pregnancy termination with their benefits, and every sizable company would have its own quality child care center.

I believe that women should have complete jurisdiction over their bodies. RT

I’ve been reading about the Alabama abortion ban all morning and trying to articulate how terrifying + insane this all is but all I’m left with is this boiling feeling of helplessness + anger + fear in my chest.
how do you celebrate your mother and then seek to control her?

Just so I’m understanding this correctly… in Alabama, a man who RAPES & gets a women pregnant will serve LESS time then the person that removes the embryo that was forcefully put in the victim…

The abortion bans in Alabama, Georgia, Ohio, Kentucky, and Mississippi are appalling attacks on women's lives and fundamental freedoms.
Women's rights are human rights.
We will not go back.

Men of the Alabama senate….what about your daughters? How do y’all lay your head down peacefully? You know this isn’t right.

Yes, the news out of Alabama tonight is HORRIFYING. Rapists are facing less jail time than a doctor who performs an abortion on a rape victim. See below for where you can donate to help fight and hopefully reverse this sheer evil. https://t.co/wxjC2VVUcv
