Bad Bunny Scores Highest Billboard-Charting Spanish-Language Album Ever

Bad Bunny’s new album YHLQMDLG will debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, Billboard reports. He sold 179,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, falling short of Lil Baby’s My Turn, which sold 197,000 units and is at No. 1.

According to Billboard, Bad Bunny’s YHLQMDLG is the highest-charting all-Spanish-language album of all time. Previously, no record performed entirely in Spanish had ranked higher than No. 4 on the Billboard 200. Previously, Shakira’s Fijación Oral, Vol. 1 reached No. 4 in June 2005, and rock band Maná made it to No. 4 in September 2006 with Amar Es Combatir

YHLQMDLG will debut atop the Top Latin Albums chart. Last year, Bad Bunny’s solo debut X 100PRE peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard 200, and his J Balvin collaboration OASIS made it to No. 9. Both of those albums also reached No. 1 on Top Latin Albums.
