Bad Bunny Illuminates Barclays Center For Most Wanted Tour New York Stop

Bad Bunny’s passion is palpable through his music, and it is even more hair-raising when experienced in a live setting. The 30-year-old superstar flipped the Barclays Center upside down during the second of his three-night, New York leg of the Most Wanted Tour on Friday evening (April 12).

For starters, let’s just say that the tour is aptly named; the lines to get into the Brooklyn venue were long and loaded with excited fans. The lines to purchase tour merchandise and drinks were equally long, and fans impatiently waited to get to their seats and experience the show he has been delivering since the tour began toward the end of February.

Things kicked off around 9:30 p.m. with a live orchestra, which performed for around 10 minutes. In usual concert fashion, attendees cheered every time a new song began or lighting changed in the building in anticipation of a grand entrance by Benito. His eventual appearance did not disappoint, as he arose from the stage across from the orchestra in a cloud of smoke to perform “Nadie Sabe,” the opener from his October 2023 album Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Mañana.

Bad Bunny could do no wrong, as the fans loved him and were thrilled to be in his presence. Still, he stuck the landing by immediately performing the 2023 smash “Monaco,” the next sequential track on Nadie. The Grammy winner ripped through more of his fan-favorite records from his latest LP in order, namely “Fina,” “Hibiki,” and “Mr. October” before skipping ahead to “Mercedes Carota.”

Throughout all of this, he was joined onstage by dancers, who performed sharp choreography while dressed in all Black. The women sported cheeky bottoms and sleeveless tops, which likely made the men in the building conflicted about whether to pay attention to them or Benito’s dynamic performance.

The Puerto Rican superstar seemed to be having as much fun as his fans and dancers, as at one point, he took out a camera and took several pictures of the crowd. After a brief intermission, he returned whilst riding on top of a horse and stepped onto the stage that the orchestra previously performed on. There, he delivered records such as “Telefono Nuevo,” “Pa Ti,” “Soy Peor” and his smash “Chambea.” The pyro in “Chambea” was reminiscent of his instant classic entrance at WWE Backlash in May 2023, where he defeated Damian Priest in a San Juan Street Fight in his home country.

Another highlight of the show was a bridge that descended from the ceiling and, upon Bad Bunny stepping onto it, rose and spun around allowing the “King Of Latin Trap” to get a bird’s eye view of his raucous fanbase. Later, lights dropped down from the ceiling and surrounded the bridge in a reimagined pattern of the Brooklyn Bridge; Benito has a lot of love for New York and showed it with this production decision.

All in all, it was an energetic evening at the Barclays Center. Bad Bunny did not disappoint any of his fans and offered a reminder of how many salient tracks he has delivered throughout his career. Just when it seems like he has hit a peak, he shows he’s got more in the tuck, much like his latest album Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Mañana boasting the smash hit “Monaco.” And judging by the reactions on Friday evening, his fans are more than happy to turn whatever he releases next to a hit that could end up in his canon alongside his biggest songs.
