The Bachelorette's Rachel Lindsay Reveals Her Summer Wedding Month: 'It's Going to Be Hot!'

The countdown is on for Rachel Lindsay‘s destination wedding!

The former Bachelorette star, who is engaged to Bryan Abasolo, shared new details about her big day during an interview with Juliet Litman on the Bachelor Party podcast.

“I’ve hired a wedding planner. It’s happening,” Lindsay, 33, said before she revealed her wedding month. “August, so six months!”

Up until now, Lindsay has been coy about the date. “I have not said the month,” she said. “I’ve just said summer 2019.”

“Mine’s going to be in like the Caribbean, so it’s going to be hot,” Lindsay shared. “August, Caribbean, it’s going to be hot!”

“I want the big party, and so now we’re closer to where Bryan still has a lot of family in Colombia, so they can come too,” she said. “So it’s like mixing these two cultures together.”

Lindsay and Abasolo, a 38-year-old Miami-based chiropractor, fell in love on season 13 of The Bachelorette in 2017, and left the show as an engaged couple.

But the pair isn’t the only engaged Bachelor Nation couple that will be saying “I do” in August — Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon have also set a date!

“Ashley I. is apparently getting married then too,” said Lindsay. “I asked her when just to make sure I don’t do her date.”

Earlier this week, Lindsay dished on her wedding details at the Los Angeles premiere of What Men Want on Monday.

“We have a date, we just haven’t officially released it,” she told PEOPLE. “It will be a destination wedding and it will be toward the end of summer, that’s the biggest hint that I can give.”

“We’re excited, and now I have to hurry up because it’s just six months away,” she continued. “I have to start picking out a dress. I won’t have bridesmaids, but now we’re getting the list. I wanted 50 people, and it’s already at 150, so it’s bigger than I would like for it to be, but that’s okay.”

Lindsay has hired wedding planner Michael Russo and said she’s “letting him take the reins.”

“I’m just putting a list together, a little detail, and letting him take control of it,” she said. “I’m not a bridezilla. I don’t have colors, I don’t have flowers, I’m just like, ‘Let’s get it done!’ ”

“Bryan is Colombian, I’m black, and it is very important that the wedding reflects both of that, even into the reception,” she said. “I want to bring some Colombian traditions. A lot of his family from Colombia will be there, because the wedding will be at a location much closer to Colombia.”
