Bachelorette Alum Jillian Harris Worked a 14-Hour Day Before Giving Birth to Son Leo

No one can call her an underachiever!

In fact, the day that Jillian Harris gave birth to son Leo George, her first child with boyfriend Justin Pasutto, the blogger and host of HGTV’s Love It or List It Too in Vancouver worked a full 14 hours.

“My pregnancy and delivery was not the most glamorous,” Harris reveals to PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “I worked on set, came home, went for a swim and then my water broke!”

Harris’ whole film crew, as well as friends and family — nearly 13 people — were in the delivery room. “It was not at all how I envisioned it, but it was such a hoot,” she admits.

Within two days of welcoming little Leo, now 6 weeks old, the former Bachelorette star says she was “working again.”

“It’s hard when you have your own business,” she shares. “I have people who depend on me.”

Harris sometimes finds herself in pajamas halfway through the afternoon — it’s then that she feels “the pressure.”

Gradually, the self-proclaimed “go getter” says she’s learned to take it a little bit easier and focus on precious time with her son.

“Justin helps ground me,” says Harris, 36, of her boyfriend. “He tells me to take it one day at a time and one email at a time. I put Leo first and whatever gets done, gets done. It’s hard for me because I like to do it all!”

Still, time with Leo is the most treasured, says Harris. “We have a bath together every night before he goes to bed and I cry every time because I’m so happy.”

“There’s a part of me that just feels so grounded,” Harris says. “I felt the connection right when I first saw him.”
