'Bachelor' Star Peter Weber Hospitalized With Serious Facial Injury While Filming

"The Bachelor" was hospitalized following an accident that caused him to get 22 stitches in his face and undergo surgery.

Peter Weber was reportedly golfing while filming in Costa Rica on Monday when he “split open his face," reports Us Weekly.

A source tells them he was taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery.

“It was a two-hour drive from the course to the hospital in San Jose; he got 22 stitches in his face," the source said, adding he cut his face with two glasses he was holding.

“The reason he traveled for two hours to a hospital was that this specific hospital had a surgeon that specialized in his injuries. He underwent surgery," they said.

The contestants were supposed to meet Weber today, but the outlet is reporting that producers are at a loss of how to continue with production.

Weber was named "The Bachelor" last month following his season on Hannah Brown's "Bachelorette."

He shined for having sex with her FOUR times in a windmill, but fans were furious at ABC for not casting Mike Johnson, who would have been the first black "Bachelor."

Several devoted fans expressed their frustrations on social media, even threatening to boycott the beloved franchise.

Some even labeled the network racist.

But not all "Bachelor" fans were up in arms over the decision. Many were excited because this paved the way for Demi Lovato to make her move on Mike.

The two had been flirting up a storm on social media and were even spotted on a date together.

Mike sat down with ET to gush over the singer and dished details on their relationship.

Weber's "Bachelor" season is supposed to air on January 6th. No word if his injury will cause delays for the premiere.
