The upcoming season of "Bachelor in Paradise" will include a same-sex romance, a first for the ABC dating show franchise.
In the trailer for the upcoming season of the dating show, contestant Demi Burnett reveals she's in love with another female contestant.
Burnett took to Twitter to explain the clip.
"Spoiler alert: I’m a queer queen," she wrote with the hashtag #BachelorInParadise.
Although she isn't the first openly queer contestant (Jaimi King was openly bisexual on the 21st season of "The Bachelor"), this is the first time the show has shown a same-sex love interest on screen.
"I don't care who sees this," Burnett says in the trailer before a clip of her kissing another woman plays. "I know that I love this girl. I'm just so happy that I found her, and I can definitely picture being with her for the rest of my life."
It is unclear who the other female contestant is.
Fellow "Bachelor" alums showed their support on social media.
