‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Post-‘Split Week’ Reunion Hands ABC the Tuesday Primetime Ratings Win

The “Bachelor in Paradise” reunion from “split week,” a week-long period that sent the original women away while new women tempted the men on the beach, earned a rose for ABC Tuesday night, as the network took first place in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, according to Nielsen’s live plus same-day figures.

As fans tuned in to see which couples will stay together after the week of torment for some and romance for others, Bachelor Nation upped the ante this week with by slightly raising ABC’s primetime rating from last week’s 0.47 to 0.50 this week, and drawing in 2.3 million average viewers as compared to last week’s 2.2 million average viewers.

Starting the night strong at 8 p.m., “Bachelor in Paradise” received a 0.63 rating in the demo — the highest rating of the night — during its two-hour episode and brought in a viewership of 2.6 million on average. ABC finished off the night with at 10 p.m. with a new episode of “The Rookie: Feds,” which locked down a 0.24 rating and drew in 1.9 million average viewers.

Here’s how primetime went down across the major broadcasters:

NBC was second in ratings with an average 0.42 rating in the key demo, and scored second place in total viewers with an average of 4.1 million viewers. The final night of Battle Rounds on “The Voice” drew in the highest viewership of the evening with 5.9 million average viewers and a rating of 0.62 in the 8 p.m. hour. Next up, “La Brea” earned a 0.35 rating and brought in a viewership of 3.5 million. At 9 p.m., the network rounded out the night with “New Amsterdam,” which saw a rating of 0.27 and an average viewership of 2.9 million.

CBS came third in ratings with an average 0.35 in the demo, while earning first place in total viewers with an average of 4.4 million viewers. The evening packed with the “FBI” franchise started off with the network’s highest rating and viewership at 8 p.m., when “FBI” garnered a 0.41 rating and drew in average of 5.5 million viewers. The “FBI” spinoffs kept audiences engaged throughout the night, as “FBI: International” received a 0.35 rating and brought in 4.1 average million viewers at 9 p.m. and “FBI: Most Wanted” earned a rating of 0.29 and had a viewership of 3.7 million on average.

Fox was fourth in ratings with an average 0.30 in the demo and placed in third place in terms of total viewers with an average of 2.4 million viewers. The network began the evening with a new episode of medical drama “The Resident,” which earned a rating of 0.38 and drew in 3.0 million viewers on average. In the 9 p.m. hour, Fox premiered a new episode of “Monarch,” which saw a rating of 0.21 and an average viewership of 1.7 million.

The CW was fifth in ratings with an average 0.07 in the demo and in total viewers with an average of 400,000 viewers. “The Winchesters” received a 0.07 rating and drew in 551,000 viewers on average at 8 p.m. while “Professionals” garnered a rating of 0.05 and received 249,000 average viewers in the 9 p.m. hour.

Neither The CW nor Fox air primetime programming at 10 p.m.

In terms of Spanish-language networks, Univision came in first with a 0.4 rating in the demo and 1.5 million total average viewers in primetime. At 8 p.m. “Vencer la Ausencia” received a rating of 0.4 in the demo and a viewership of 1.4 million on average. Next was “Los Ricos También Lloran,” which received a 0.5 in the demo and 1.7 million total average viewers. “La Madrastra” ended the night by earning a 0.4 in ratings and 1.4 million total viewers on average.

Telemundo came in second place both in terms of rating in the demo and total average viewership, as the network saw a 0.2 rating and 902,000 average total viewers for the night. “La Reina del Sur” brought in a 0.4 rating and 1.1 million total viewers on average, and “El Fuego del Destino” closed out the night with a rating of 0.2 in the demo and a total viewership of 721,000 on average.
