Baby Spinach Is Being Recalled From Store Shelves Over Salmonella Concerns

News of salmonella contamination is back, as baby spinach is now being recalled over concerns it could make people sick.

Dole Fresh Vegetables announced on Friday that they've conducted a voluntary recall of some of their baby spinach, including their Dole Baby Spinach 6-ounce bags. The company says a “limited number of cases of baby spinach” is affected right now.

Lot Codes Announced

The lot code for the baby spinach 6-ounce bags is W20308A (UPC code 0-71430-00964-2). The lot code for the 10-ounce Dole Baby Spinach clamshell is W203010 (UPC code 0-71430-00016-8).

Both have expiration, or use-by dates, of Aug. 5.

Stores In Several States Received Bags

The spinach was shipped to stores in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin. There have been no illnesses reported yet.
