A scene from Marvel’s I am Groot is trending, with users putting themselves in the shoes of Groot and Rocket. I am Groot is a five-episode series based around Baby Groot, giving him more shine than he normally receives in full length Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

In the scene, Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) hands Rocket (Bradley Cooper) a piece of paper. Rocket hopes the paper has an apology on it, since Groot had recently set off a bomb in the room. Rocket looks at the paper and sees one of Baby Groot’s drawings. It was a sentimental moment, and TikTokers are recreating that level of emotion in this trend.

Users are using a CapCut template to swap out Baby Groot’s drawing for something they hold near to their heart or to simply reflect on old times.

With the template trending and not a lot of effort needed to set the meme up, it’s easy to see why this trend has taken off. Users have also been able to reminisce about the old days in the comment sections.

“Frame that for sure,” said @enzoonasty.

“My mom still has my honor rolls from middle school,” said @user1738679911.

Currently, this CapCut template has over 427,000 uses. On TikTok, one of the more popular songs to go with this trend was posted by @doon3yy. The audio has over 5,000 videos attached to it. Some users have decided to just show the clip and have no song in the background, but @doon3yy’s sound is one you shouldn’t be shocked to hear.

TikTokers have been expecting war trash with these memes, but have found fond, unexpected memories.
