Sean “Diddy” Combs made headlines earlier this year following news he would be giving his former artists back their publishing. However, one act says they’ve yet to receive ownership of those rights. B5, an R&B group that was signed to Bad Boy Records during the ’00s, claim they’ve yet to receive any information regarding the matter.

While appearing on the We In Miami podcast, the members of the group, all biological brothers, made a public plea to the rap mogul to keep true to his word. One member said the group “didn’t hear anything,” regarding their publishing being reverted back to them. “We didn’t get no calls, nothing like that, from that.”

Another member added, “Puff — Diddy, yeah, we all want our publishing too,” echoing the sentiments of their groupmate.

During the episode, the quintet also reflected on feeling taken advantage of due to their age, as all members of the group were minors upon signing to the label. “We were so young at the time; we didn’t understand the business of it. But, you know, now looking back, it’s like, ‘Damn, why our names wasn’t on the credits?… Where the percentages at? Where the [publishing] at?”

B5 On '106 & Park'

Hailing from St. Petersburg, Fl., the group, formerly known as the TNT Boyz, inked a record deal with Diddy and Bad Boy Records during the early aughts. They released their self-titled debut album in 2005. Led by their cover of the Jackson 5’s 1975 hit “All I Do,” the album debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard 200.

B5 released their sophomore album Don’t Talk, Just Listen in 2007, which peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard 200. The project featured an appearance by Bow Wow and production by Bryan Michael-Cox, Danja, The Underdogs, and more.

The group would ultimately break ties after the release of Don’t Talk, Just Listen due to the two sides “not seeing eye to eye.”
