Azealia Banks Cries to Instagram Followers After Allegedly Being Kicked Off Aer Lingus Flight

Azealia Banks is claiming that she had to leave her flight from London to Dublin, where was scheduled to perform, after an alleged altercation with a member of the airplane’s crew.

The 27-year-old rapper explained her side of the story in a series of videos shared on her Instagram Story on Monday, which have since been erased and uploaded to YouTube.

“It’s like every time I come into the U.K. there’s always some f—ing s—t with these airline people. They’re always starting s—t with me,” Banks began in the clip.

She then described how after she and her travel companion boarded the flight, an attendant started asking her questions that she didn’t immediately have the answer to.

The woman then sat down a few seats over from Banks and stared at her, the musician alleges.

“I’m like ‘Girl, don’t stare at me. I didn’t fill out your Aer Lingus work application,’” Banks says before recalling how the flight attendant allegedly went to the captain of the plane, claiming that Banks threatened her.

“She … lies and says that I said like, ‘Oh, like, don’t stare at me, I’ll sort you out,'” Banks continues. “What are you f—ing talking about? I’m from New York City, I don’t say s—t like that … I don’t even use that kind of slang.”

Next, the “212” singer describes the crew crowding around her and “chastising me like some f—ing animal.”

Then, Banks says, she got off the plane because “I’ve worked too hard in my life to be cornered by some ugly Irish b—h. They are ugly Irish women here.”

At that point, according to Banks’ video, security came up to her and “tried their hardest to get me to say something or do something or freak out.”

She concludes as tears stream down her face: “I’m really just trying to calm down right now.”

In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, Aer Lingus confirmed that two guests got off its 10:55 a.m. flight from London to Dublin on Monday prior to departure, but reps did not say their names or why they left.

“The guests in question got off the plane safely of their own accord, while all other guests remained on board,” the statement reads. “As they had luggage in the hold, the flight was delayed while that luggage was sourced. The flight departed Gatwick at 12:07 and landed in Dublin at 13:22 that day. Aer Lingus has a strict no-tolerance policy towards disruptive guest behaviour. The safety and security of our guests and crew remains our first priority.”

Monday’s incident isn’t the first time Banks has found herself in an altercation on a plane, as she admitted in her Instagram Story.

Back in September 2015, she reportedly lost her temper on a Delta flight and yelled at a fellow passenger, a flight attendant and the flight’s co-pilot.

In a video posted on TMZ, the singer is heard yelling “Give me my bag!” at the flight attendant as they struggle over her luggage.

According to TMZ, a French couple was blocking Banks’ exit as they pulled their own luggage from the overhead bin. When the French man put his hand out, Banks allegedly spit in the man’s face and physically assaulted him, an eyewitness told the site.

Police were reportedly called to the scene, but the French couple declined to press charges.

Banks claimed the French man hit her in the face, and told TMZ “I don’t tolerate men putting their hands on me.”

A year later, in December 2016, Banks claimed that she was assaulted by actor Russell Crowe — which the Los Angeles County District Attorney declined to prosecute due to lack of sufficient evidence.

According to accounts, Banks was among 10 guests joining Crowe for a laid-back evening of dinner and music at a private gathering in the Beverly Hills Hotel on October 15, 2016. She was at the party as rapper and director RZA’s plus-one. There she claimed she was “spat on, choked, thrown out of a room, and called a ‘n—–’” by Crowe.

Banks filed a police report with Beverly Hills Police Department shortly after 3 a.m. the following day.

A source close to the situation told PEOPLE Crowe never called Banks the N-word. At the time, a rep from Crowe did not comment on Banks’ claims.

The New York City native also made headlines that year when she revealed to her Instagram followers that she practices witchcraft. The disturbing videos show her cleaning the room she’s been using for apparent animal sacrifices.

In a video that pans around what looks to be a closet in Banks’s apartment, the walls are visibly covered with what appeared to be hardened stains of blood — while a mix of feathers and a black substance cover the room’s wood floors. It also looks like at least two dead chickens can be seen on the floor.

“The amount of crap that’s about to come off my floor right now guys? Oh my God,” she explained in the video. “You know I got to scrape all this s— up. I’ve got my sandblaster, and my goggles — it’s about to go down.”

“Real witches do real things,” she added.

Reps for Banks did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
