Another celebrity just joined the winner’s circle, and we totally saw this “W” coming.

Tonight, television’s biggest stars gathered virtually for the 78th annual Golden Globes. During the ceremony, Rosamund Pike won the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical) for playing Marla Grayson in I Care a Lot.

She was up against Maria Bakalova for Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (played Tutar Sagdiyev), Kate Hudson for Music (played Kazu Gamble), Michelle Pfeiffer for French Exit (played Frances Price) and Anya Taylor-Joy for Emma (played Emma Woodhouse).

The Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical) has been around since the late ’40s, though it was originally combined with the Drama category. Previous winners include Awkwafina for The Farewell, Olivia Colman for The Favourite, Saoirse Ronan for Lady Bird, Emma Stone for La La Land, Jennifer Lawrence for Joy and Silver Linings Playbook, Amy Adams for Big Eyes and American Hustle, Michelle Williams for My Week with Marilyn, Annette Bening for The Kids Are All Right, Meryl Streep for Julie & Julia and Sally Hawkins for Happy-Go-Lucky.

The 78th annual Golden Globes were hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, who previously helmed the awards show in 2013, 2014 and 2015. However, this is the first time they did it from opposite sides of the country.
