‘How To Get Away With Murder’ Loses Series-Regular In Mid-Season Shocker

The question of who has been under the sheet on this season of How To Get Away With Murder was answered with a bang or, more accurately, a fire, and another character has landed in jail after the events of tonight’s mid-season finale. So it is that the storyline for the last half of season 3 – identifying the murder – has been set in motion. It goes without saying big spoilers follow from here on out, so read on at your own risk.

The death came as part of the very appropriately titled episode “Who’s Dead?” The answer: Wes Gibbins, played by Alfred Enoch since season 1. News that he was the latest murder victim had been kept secret until tonight’s broadcast and came as a surprise, particularly since the timeline surrounding the death has been played with during the first half of the season, leaving the door open for three other possibilities.

The moment was a gruesome end for the character who has over the course of his time on the show been defined by several tragedies. That it came right after he signed an immunity deal was only the icing on the cake. but the final twist? Annalise has been arrested, and she’s visited in jail by Nate, who tells her that Wes was dead before the fire.

Which is to say, there are still plenty of unanswered questions waiting viewers when the show returns in early 2017.
