FINDLAY TWP. – The vivid joy and creativity of Aliquippa artist Marlon Gist will be showcased at Pittsburgh International Airport.

The Allegheny County Airport Authority chose Gist, an award-winning fine artist and educator, for inclusion in the Rotating Art Installations at the Pittsburgh airport's Landside Terminal.

The arts program aims to enhance the airport experience for visitors and staff by presenting dynamic visual art, performing art and public art by local, regional, national and international artists. The display also showcases esteemed artists in the greater Pittsburgh area, like Gist, who specializes in versatility, from abstract to realism and graphite to oil paint.

Gist's selected pieces echo the dynamic, stimulating, robust history of what it means to be a Beaver County-ite, according to the Genesis Collective, a Beaver County-based nonprofit to which he belongs, composed of a diverse group of artists, activists, academics and organizers who bring their unique background, experiences and passions to help increase the public’s access to art and creativity.

“Mila’s Art Gallery” and “Gist Ave.” are two of Gist's art pieces to be displayed at the airport.

It’s a place where everyone getsalong. A community that thrives off of friends, family, and family business.”
