Award winners announced for Fantasy of Lights Parade in Howell

HOWELL — Award winners have been announced for this year's Fantasy of Lights Parade in Howell.

The 39th annual Fantasy of Lights Parade took place Nov. 24 in downtown Howell. The celebration marks the city's start of the holiday season.

There were 50 participants in this year’s parade along Grand River Avenue, according to a news release. Each float had a minimum of 5,000 lights.

Award winners include:

  • LoRea Topsoil & Aggregate, recipient of the Razzle Dazzle award;

  • Howell Jr. Lacrosse, recipient of the Spirit of Christmas award;

  • Beauchamp Water Treatment Solutions, recipient of the Children’s Delight award;

  • Livingston Educational Service Agency (LESA), recipient of the Best Use of Lights award;

  • Great Deal Products, recipient of the First Times award;

  • Agape City Church, recipient of the Grand Marshal’s Choice award.

"The Fantasy of Lights Parade is a cherished tradition that brings our community together in the true spirit of the holidays,” said Janelle Best, president of the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce. “This year's event was made even more special by the overwhelming support of our sponsors and the enthusiastic participation of our community, committee and volunteers.”

Cobb-Hall Insurance returned as the presenting sponsor for this year’s Fantasy of Lights Parade. Cleary University’s Peppermint Path hosted multiple vendors, children’s activities, letters to Santa, live reindeer, live music and entertainment. The Fantasy 5K, presented by Chem-Trend Limited Partnership, had a significant surge in runner participation. There was also a costume contest.
