‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Marathon: Marvel’s 31-Hour Theatrical Event Only Includes 12 MCU Movies

Got 31 hours to spare? Like Marvel movies? Enjoy sitting? Have we got a (slightly daunting) event for you. As they’ve done in the past to celebrate the debut some of their splashiest titles, Marvel has announced official details for a massive new marathon of some of its biggest features leading up to the April release of “Avengers: Infinity War.” But for fans looking to check out every single Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to date (theres’s 18) before seeing “Infinity War,” we’ve got some bad news: this marathon is only offering up a dozen films, including the latest from the blockbuster factory.

Titles missing from this roundup include both “Thor 2” and “Thor Ragnarok,” both “Iron Man 2” and “Iron Man 3,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Ant-Man,” and “Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2.” Instead of individual adventures, the onus of this event appears to be on films that are mostly occupied with Avengers-facing storylines. (Still, we’re really going to miss Taika Waititi’s delightful “Ragnarok,” which does help lay out some big pieces of this newest adventure). Of course, Marvel’s latest smash hit, “Black Panther,” makes the list, and will serve as the lead-in to “Infinity War.”

Per AMC, the 12-title marathon will be “unlike any other,” and will include “marathon only collectibles, exclusive content, and a special concession offer.” Well, you’re going to want to eat. Probably?

The event will be held on Wednesday, April 25, starting at 1:30PM. The marathon schedule is as follows, all culminating in a screening of the latest Marvel movie, “Avengers: Infinity War,” which is set to start at precisely 6:00PM at each location.

“Iron Man”

“The Incredible Hulk”

“Thor”

“Captain America: The First Avenger”

“Marvel’s The Avengers”

“Guardians of the Galaxy”

“Avengers: Age of Ultron”

“Captain America: Civil War”

“Doctor Strange”

“Spider-Man: Homecoming”

“Black Panther”

“Avengers: Infinity War”

Tickets for the event cost $75 each (that’s less than three dollars an hour!), and are currently on sale at just two locations: New York City’s AMC Empire and Orlando’s Disney Springs.

“Avengers: Infinity War” hits theaters on April 27, and advance tickets are now on sale via Fandango.
