'Avengers: Infinity War': Bruce Banner and Doctor Strange explain Thanos to Tony Stark (video)

Warning: Possibly major spoilers for “Avengers: Infinity War.”

It’s “Avengers: Infinity War” week on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” so we’ll get right to the point. To kick things off, Kimmel had Robert Downey Jr., Tom Holland, Zoe Saldana, Paul Bettany and Pom Klementieff on to talk the film up — and to debut a new clip. But even though it’s just 60 minutes of people talking, a huge detail is revealed. You can watch it above, but like we said, there are some possible major spoilers.

In the clip from what seems to some ways into the film, Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Wong (Benedict Wong) explain the situation to Tony Stark (Downey Jr.). It’s bad, of course: Thanos is coming, soon it seems, and he’s pretty much able to destroy Earth without a fight.

But despite the dire tidings, Tony still finds time for some snark and meets his match with a very droll Doctor Strange. Wong and Strange explain they can’t just ditch the Eye of Agamotto — AKA the Time Stone — because they’ve sworn an oath to protect it. Tony replies that he swore to give up dairy, but then “Ben and Jerry’s named a flavor after me so…” That ice cream, counters Strange, is “a bit chalky.”

Here’s the big possible spoiler: The clip also reveals that Thanos has only two Infinity Stones when he threatens the earth, the Power Stone (AKA “the orb” from “Guardians of the Galaxy”) and the Space Stone (AKA the Tesseract). Which, for those of you keeping score, means he still has four to go. That includes the Mind Stone (currently powering Vision), the Time Stone (around Doctor Strange’s neck), the Reality Stone (last seen in the possession of The Collector), and the still-unaccounted-for Soul Stone.

Also, it looks like Bruce Banner wasn’t locked into Hulk form like he feared at the end of “Thor: Ragnarok.” Good for him.

“Avengers: Infinity War” lands in theaters on Friday.
