‘Avengers: Endgame’ Passes ‘The Force Awakens’ as Fandango’s Top Preseller

“Avengers: Endgame” has officially become the all-time top preseller on Fandango, beating the record set in 2015 by “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” Fandango said Thursday.

The ticketing website also reported that more than 8,000 screenings nationwide have sold out, with thousands more being created over the past three weeks to meet the overwhelming demand. In its first week of presales, “Endgame” sold five times as many advance tickets as “Avengers: Infinity War” in the same time period.

“It’s pacing to be our biggest box office weekend of all time,” said Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis. “We’ve never seen so many new screens and new showtimes added to meet the demand. I expect fans to go back for repeat viewings of ‘Endgame’ throughout the weekend to catch all the things they missed in the film’s three-hour running time.”
