'Avengers: Endgame' meme takes over social media, avenging 'fallen' characters from John Wick's dog to Ned Stark

Yesterday, Disney unveiled a new series of Avengers: Endgame character posters, featuring individual photos of every hero who died in Avengers: Infinity War (including Spider-Man, Nick Fury and Groot) with the tagline "Avenge the Fallen" emblazoned across their faces. Today, the internet has some additional suggestions. Fans have been mocking up their own "Avenge the Fallen" posters featuring deceased pop culture characters like John Wick's dog, Nemo’s mom and Barb from Stranger Things. Do the surviving Avengers have time to save them all? Scroll down to see the best of the “Avenge the Fallen” meme.

This one features Mama Coco from Pixar’s Coco.

And here’s Ned Stark from Game of Thrones.

Poor Kenny from South Park will need to be avenged many times over.

Honestly, John Wick’s dog has already been pretty well-avenged.

Artax from The NeverEnding Story, on the other hand, is long overdue.

A moment of silence for Bing Bong from Inside Out, Bambi’s mom, Nemo’s mom and all the Disney moms, really.

Not to mention, Ursula’s snacking shrimp.

You knew that Barb from Stranger Things had to be in there.

And Jackson Maine from A Star Is Born. The Avengers are far from the shallow now!

Any First Wives Club fans out there? Here’s Stockard Channing, pre-jump.

How about The Walking Dead fans? This tribute to recently-fallen characters comes from the show’s official account.

A deep cut for the Star Wars nerds: The Jedi youngling who speaks to Anakin right before he slaughters every kid in the room (off camera) in Revenge of the Sith.

And here’s one for the Potterheads.

Let us not forget Li’l Sebastian from Parks and Recreation.

And Alf! Why not?

The Life Alert lady has fallen, and only the Avengers can help her up.

Finally, a tribute to a man whose legacy is stronger than all of the Infinity Stones.

Avengers: Endgame opens in theaters on April 26. Purchase advance tickets on Fandango.
