‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Trailer: First Glimpses Of Bumi, Nyla & More In Netflix Live-Action Series – Update

UPDATED: Netflix has released the official trailer for Avatar: The Last Airbender ahead of its February 22 premiere. “The Fire Nation is embarked on a dark path. And the world might never recover. The world needs the Avatar. It needs you, Aang.” The trailer begins with the voiceover in a plea to Aang to save the world. In the video, we also get the first looks at Bumi, the Earth Kingdom ruler of Omashu played by Utkarsh Ambudkar and the creature Nyla that’s mounted by bounty hunter June (Arden Cho). PREVIOUS, Nov. 9: “Time is a funny thing. The past, the future. It all gets mixed up. There’s only one way to keep it straight. Always remember who you are.” The voiceover at the beginning of the first trailer sets the stage for Netflix’s anticipated live-action series Avatar: The Last Airbender. You can watch it above.

PREVIOUS, Nov. 8: Netflix has unveiled a new live-action look at Avatar: The Last Airbender featuring Aang, Katara and Sokka riding on the back of the magical creature Appa. You can see it above and the full poster below which teases the first trailer ahead of tomorrow’s release.

Kiawentiio (Katara), Ian Ousley (Sokka), Dallas Liu (Prince Zuko) and Gordon Cormier (Aang) make up the cast of the series set to drop in 2024.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is an adaptation of the award-winning and beloved Nickelodeon animated series of the same name. It takes place in a world that is divided into four nations: the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. “Benders” are people that have the ability to telekinetically manipulate and control the element corresponding to their nation, using gestures based on Chinese martial arts. The “Avatar” is the only individual with the ability to bend all four elements.

Albert Kim (Sleepy Hollow, Nikita) serves as showrunner, executive producer, and writer. Alongside Kim, Rideback’s Dan Lin (The Lego Movie, Aladdin) and Lindsey Liberatore (Walker) and Jabbar Raisani serve as executive producers as well as Michael Goi (Swamp Thing, American Horror Story). Goi, Roseanne Liang (also a co-executive producer), Raisani and Jet Wilkinson direct.
