Based on the iconic animated Nickelodeon series of the same name, which aired for three seasons from 2005 to 2008, Netflix’s reimagining “follows Aang, the young Avatar, as he learns to master the four elements (Water, Earth, Fire, Air) to restore balance to a world threatened by the terrifying Fire Nation.”
Already an obvious improvement on M. Night Shyamalan’s famously bad live-action film, the series has earned diehard fans’ trust and respect through authentic casting and a clear commitment to recreating the spirit of the original series.

Who’s the Creative Team Behind Avatar: The Last Airbender?
Albert Kim (Sleepy Hollow, Nikita) serves as showrunner of Avatar: The Last Airbender, executive-producing alongside Jabbar Raisani, Dan Lin, Lindsey Liberatore and Michael Goi.
The first season’s eight episodes are written by Kim, Avatar creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, Joshua Hale Fialkov, Christine Boylan, Keely MacDonald, Gabriel Llanas, Emily Kim, Hunter Ries, Ubah Mohamed and Audrey Wong Kennedy.
