The Australian Firefighters Calendar is ready to heat up your 2024.

Back for a new year, the 2024 Australian Firefighters Calendar features six different editions: dog, cat, horse, mixed animal, classic, and heroes — a new edition for 2024.

The classic and heroes editions feature firefighters from Australia's aviation, military, and urban fire services. In the cat, dog, and horse editions, the firefighters are accompanied by the photogenic animal the calendar edition is named after. That means kittens sitting on shoulders, puppies being held like babies, and horses standing strikingly beside firefighters. The mixed animal edition has guest appearances by koalas, ducklings, and other cute critters.

The Australian Firefighters Calendar launched in 1993 and has strived from the start to raise money for charity, donating over 3.4 million in proceeds to Australian organizations, including animal refuges and charities for cancer research.

Three years ago, the Australian Firefighters Calendar also began donating to U.S. charities as a thank-you to the American animal lovers and rescues who supported Australia and its animals during the devastating 2019-2020 wildfire season.

This year, proceeds from the 2024 calendar will go to Australian charities like the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital and the Kids with Cancer Foundation. Donations will also go to Greater Good Charities' Rescue Rebuild program in the U.S.

"Greater Good Charities is hugely grateful for the continued support from the Australian Firefighters Calendar. Funds raised from the calendar sales will support a renovation at a wildlife rehabilitation facility by our Rescue Rebuild program this November. Thanks to this generous donation, this facility will be able to care for more animals and protect endangered species that are vital to our ecosystem," Zach Baker, the vice president of pet programs at Greater Good Charities, said in a statement.

The Australia Firefighters Calendar reaches over 90 countries and has found a large fanbase in North America. To recognize these fans, the Australian Firefighters Calendar included two American firefighters and a Canadian firefighter in its 2024 editions.

"One of my goals was before the age of 30 I wanted to be in the Australian Firefighters Calendar. When I was younger in my fire and medic career, it began as a joke because I felt like I could never be physically capable or fit enough to be one of those men you see in the calendar. After ten years of hard work and dedication, I reached out to the Australian Firefighters Calendar, and to my surprise, they were impressed by my journey and wanted me to partake in their calendar. This was a dream come true and one of the greatest honors of my life to be an American featured in an Australian Firefighters Calendar for a good cause," Jacob Hacker, a firefighter with Willard Fire and Rescue in Ohio and one of the American features in the 2024 calendar, said.
