Austin Butler Joins Girlfriend Kaia Gerber and Her Parents Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford on Cabo Getaway: Photos

Vacation baes! Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber are ringing in the new year on the beach — with the Gerbers. The Elvis star, 31, was photographed cuddling up to the model, 21, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on Thursday, December 29. Butler wore a blue T-shirt and a navy baseball cap while he chatted with Gerber and her parents: dad Rande Gerber and mom Cindy Crawford. Kaia, for her part, looked beach-ready in her green polka-dot bikini and floral cover-up. Crawford and Rande’s eldest son, Presley Gerber, also joined the group. Us Weekly confirmed in December 2021 that the Carrie Diaries alum began dating Kaia following her split from Jacob Elordi the previous month. Butler and the Babylon actress kept their romance relatively low-key before making their red carpet debut at the 2022 Met Gala in May. The twosome packed on the PDA as they celebrated the fundraiser’s Gilded Age theme. Several weeks later, Kaia kissed her man at the Cannes red carpet premiere of Elvis. Butler, however, has declined to speak out about their connection. “I don’t think there’s anything I want to share about that. But thank you for providing the space,” the Nickelodeon alum told GQ in an interview published in May. While Butler, Kaia and her parents have remained coy about the new coupling, the 56-year-old supermodel generally approves of her daughter’s lifestyle. “Cindy’s supportive of Kaia and wants her to be happy,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2019. “Kaia’s young, so Cindy’s encouraging her to stay focused on her future. Kaia trusts her mom completely and looks to her as a role model.” The young model also touts her mom as a career inspiration. “For me [modeling] wasn’t a foreign world to go into and I felt like I understood it. I knew what I was kind of getting into. I’d been around it a lot,” Kaia told Vogue in October 2019. “I definitely think there are some things that no matter how much somebody can tell you about, there were a lot of things you do have to learn firsthand. So for me it was, it was definitely less scary to go into. I have so much appreciation for women like my mom and for the other girls who come who don’t know anything.” She continued at the time: “At first, I think any child being compared to their parents is a bit iffy. But if I had to be compared to anyone in the whole world, it is the biggest compliment [to be compared to my mom], especially when people tell me that I act like her. That, to me, is the biggest compliment to receive because she carries herself with the most poise, kindness, and grace.” Kaia previously dated Elordi, 25, and Pete Davidson before sparking a connection with Butler.
