Audience Member Steals the ‘Tonight Show’ With a Song

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has a recurring bit called “Freestylin’ With the Roots,” in which the Roots make up songs about people in the audience. But when it came time to make up a song about Hollywood Anderson, the audience member showed off his own remarkable voice.

First, Fallon asked Anderson whether he preferred dogs or cats. Anderson said he preferred dogs, because “Loyalty is a must in America, and it’s hard to find. So, get a dog because they’re better than Trump.”

Before the lead singer for the Roots, Tariq Trotter, could start his rap about dogs being better than Trump, Anderson blasted out his own improvised song. The lyrics were “Get you a dog, it will always have your back.” Everyone in the audience seemed shocked by Anderson’s impressive voice.

Later, when guest Ashton Kutcher came on stage, the very first thing he did was sing, “Get you a dog, it will always have your back.” Kutcher went on to give the audience member a little extra love saying, “Hollywood Anderson, that’s my man right there.”

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m./10:35 p.m. CT NBC.
