MONTGOMERY — Auburn football announced last week that this year's A-Day is scheduled for April 8. The Tigers will begin spring practice before that, though, and coach Hugh Freeze revealed Feb. 27 as the start date.

"It’s just going to make our February pretty stressful trying to get everything installed with new staff on both sides," Freeze said Friday after speaking at the 18th annual Alabama Football Coaches Association Convention in Montgomery. "It’s such a fast turnaround. ... We’re going to have to grind some in February. Normally you try to take a little dead period in February to give us a break from what we’ve gone through, but we can’t do that this February. We’ll have to work some weekends and try and get everything installed before we start.

"But we’ll get it done. We might not quite get everything installed, which is fine, I’m not sure that’s important anyway. We better get good at something. We’ll figure out what that is and how it looks, but ... we’ll have to get after it in February."
