The following are good examples of involving good dogs in college football fun:

This, on the other hand, we wouldn’t recommend:

This dog, named Tiger Jake for obvious reasons, accompanied his Auburn fan owner to Day 4 of SEC Media Days, where Tigers coach Gus Malzahn addressed the media. Obviously those are not the natural colors of a Maltese, so the owner, Ron Sanford, told a few reporters that Jake gets a new dye job every six weeks.

“It’s not paint. It’s hair dye,” said Sanford, per Al.com. “We’ve done this for two years. He gets it done every six weeks.”

He told SB Nation the dye is “animal friendly,” but there has to be a better way to showcase your Auburn fandom, right? Heck, the dude’s awesome suspenders are good enough for me.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen painted dogs. LSU fans love turning their dogs into Tigers.

But those weren’t quite as outrageous as this Alabama poodle back in 2013:

Sigh.
