Aubrey Plaza’s Silk Eggshell Gown Has the Most Sophisticated Drop Waist

The drop-waist trend has reached glamorous new heights, courtesy of Aubrey Plaza.
Today, the actor walked the red carpet at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in an incredible silk gown by Loewe with the most sophisticated low waist.
The dress was a custom eggshell silk satin duchess gown with long sleeves and a twisted panel that acted as a low belt. The piece rounded down at the waist and fell to the sides, becoming one with the tiered skirt, which pooled at the actor’s feet.
While the front of the gown was elegant with a high square neck, the back was open, featuring a plunging cutout that went down to Plaza’s waist.
The White Lotus star wore the dreamy creation with a sculptural necklace composed of layers of turquoise diamonds, plus a gleaming white teardrop diamond at the center. She added on a pair of matching chandelier earrings as well as a cocktail ring also embellished with turquoise diamonds.
To put a bow on the Old Hollywood look, Plaza wore her chestnut hair in a side-parted wavy bob and had on rosy makeup and a glossy nude manicure.
Plaza wowed in the ensemble at the premiere of her sci-fi drama Megalopolis, at Cannes’s fabulous Palais des Festivals. She walked up the carpeted steps of the palace arm-in-arm with the film’s famed director, Francis Ford Coppola. Then, her costars, including Adam Driver andChloe Fineman, joined her on the carpet. The movie tells the story of an architect who “wants to rebuild New York City as a utopia following a devastating disaster,” per IMDb.
