Spring is in the air and Easter is on Sunday, March 31. A number of community groups and churches around Corpus Christi have spring and Easter festivals planned for a fun-filled time with family and friends.

Photos with the Easter Bunny at La Palmera

Visit with the Easter Bunny and take photos from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays now through Saturday, March 30, in the center court of La Palmera mall, 5488 S. Padre Island Drive. Make a reservation to cut down on your wait time, but walk-ins are always welcome. Easter Egg Hunt at Bell Whittington Public Library

Hop on over to the annual Drive-Thru Easter Egg-stravaganza from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 30, in the School of Science and Technology parking lot, 3601 Saratoga Blvd. Hot Z95, Rock 92/7, and 1440 KEYS are giving away over 12,000 Easter eggs and 10 special prize-stuffed eggs to families during this drive-thru event. Fulton Mansion State Historic Site presents an Easter egg hunt at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at 317 S Fulton Beach Road, Rockport. In addition to hunting for eggs, there will be crafts, and pictures with the Easter Bunny, all for ages 12 and younger. Cost: Free. 82nd annual Easter Sunrise Passion Play

The 82nd annual Easter Sunrise Passion Play begins at sunrise (around 7:20 a.m.) Sunday, March 31, at the Cole Park amphitheater, 2600 Ocean Drive. The annual event traces the steps of Jesus from his betrayal on Holy Thursday until his resurrection on Easter Sunday with the sun rising over Corpus Christi Bay in the background. Walk with Jesus on Good Friday, March 29, along Ocean Drive. For volunteers interested in participating in the play, rehearsals are at 2:30 p.m. Sundays, March 10, March 17 and March 24; Full-day dress rehearsal from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 30. Easter Eggstravaganza at Heritage Park

Venture Church presents Easter Eggstravaganza from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, March 31, at Heritage Park, 1581 N. Chaparral St. The community is invited to join Venture Church on Easter for a family-friendly, free event. Enjoy an egg hunt for all ages and food vendors will be on site to purchase food, along with moon jumps and lots of giveaways. Cost: Free, food available for purchase. 2024 Windfest in Portland

Portland’s 49th annual Windfest is April 4-7, at Daniel P. Moore Community Complex, 1900 Billy G. Webb Drive, Portland. Hours are 4-10 p.m. Thursday (carnival and parade only, parade starts at 6 p.m.); 4-11:30 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Family fun featuring carnival rides, live entertainment including Saturday night headliner Rick Trevino, petting zoo, car show, Dachshund Dash, delicious food and much more. The South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center’s Big Bloom Mega Plant Sale and Garden Festival is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at 8545 S. Staples St. This spring fundraiser coincides with the $2 Community Day entrance fee. Shop hundreds of plant varieties—orchids, plumeria, natives, Xeriscape, tropicals, butterfly attractors along with specialty vendors, plus see butterfly and ladybug releases, Animal Ambassadors, kids’ play area, food trucks, and Nature’s Boutique. Earth Day-Bay Day festival at Heritage Park
