Atlantic Records and Artist Partner Group Launch Emerge, a Nationwide Talent Search

Atlantic Records and Artist Partner Group today announced the launch of Emerge, a nationwide, social media-driven search for teen pop/R&B talent. The companies have partnered with AEG Presents, Deckstar, Deutsch and Spotify in an effort to find young artists “with star potential, wherever they exist across the continent,” according to a release. The initiative is an unusual if not unprecented collaboration between a music company, a live entertainment organization, a management company, a marketing agency and a digital music service to discover and develop emerging talent.

Emerge is accepting submissions from artists and musicians between the ages of 13 and 19 who are residents of the U.S. or Canada (excluding Quebec), beginning Tuesday (Oct. 10) through Nov. 12.

Complete details and instructions on how to enter can be found at www.atlanticrecords.com/emerge.

All entries will be reviewed by Atlantic A&R representatives, who will select the artist or artists deserving of a major label contract. A rep emphasized that the selected artist or artists will be offered the opportunity to work with the participating companies (i.e. a binding record or management deal will not be offered automatically).

“Emerge is all about breaking the barrier to entry for outstanding young artists,” said Artist Partner Group Founder & CEO Mike Caren. “Getting heard in this business shouldn’t be about who you know, but who you are as an artist. This campaign isn’t about industry relationships or market research, but about creating a new channel from performer to label, combined with the expertise of our friends at AEG Presents, Deckstar, Deutsch and Spotify.”

“We’re super excited to partner with all of these amazing companies that together embrace all aspects of an artist’s career,” said Atlantic Records’ Chairman & COO Julie Greenwald and Atlantic Records Chairman & CEO Craig Kallman. “This is a talent search for the digital age, designed to find distinctive voices with huge potential.”
