‘Atlanta’ Star Crashes ‘Silicon Valley’ Acceptance Speech at Critics’ Choice

There was a Kanye-esque moment at the 22nd Annual Critics’ Choice Awards Sunday night when HBO series Silicon Valley won Best Comedy Series. Executive producer Tom Lassally accepted the award from Christian Slater and Leslie Mann and encountered a bit of a surprise.

As he makes his way to the stage, Lakeith Stanfield, of Atlanta, can be seen in the background also making his way to the stage. Once he got there, Lakeith just started talking like he had won. The Atlanta star said, “I want to thank everybody for honoring us in this way. We worked very hard on Silicon Valley … and here we are. Thank you,” and then exited the stage.

Tom was visibly confused as he received the award from Leslie and approached the mic. He started his acceptance speech by saying, “No idea who that was, um … wow.”
