Athletes share messages of support to Hurricane Harvey victims
Tropical Storm Harvey devastated Southeast Texas and parts of Louisiana this past weekend, killing at least five and bringing catastrophic flooding.
Houston, the nation’s fourth-largest city, was among the areas hit hardest by Harvey, which has since been downgraded from a Category 4 hurricane, and the National Weather Service reports some parts of the city could receive as much as 50 inches of rain by Friday.
Athletes shared messages of support to those affected by the natural disaster.
Texans star J.J. Watt announced a fundraiser to help recovery efforts, starting it off with a personal $100,000 donation.
Recovery efforts from Hurricane Harvey will be massive.
We must come together to help rebuild our communities.https://t.co/SR6DmnNbyM pic.twitter.com/iiMsG2i4dl— JJ Watt (@JJWatt) August 27, 2017
