Athens Tech Foundation adds three new members to board of directors

Three new members have been appointed to the board of directors on the Athens Tech Foundation that oversees fundraising and student support for Athens Technical College.

The new appointees will serve a three-year term.

“I am grateful for the commitment of these community members who are willing to step up and help support our college and our students through service as they all bring a wealth of knowledge to the board,” Technical College President Andrea Daniel said in a statement released with the announcement.

Those appointed were Bill Bushnell, a lawyer with 48 years of legal experience, Patricia Dixen, a marketing and communications expert, and Dwain Evans, a director at UPS, who develops sales strategies for national and global accounts.

Bushnell, with legal experience with the military, lives in Athens. Dixen, who worked with high-tech business, moved four years ago to Athens from Silicon Valley, Calif. Evans resides in Greensboro and serves with several community organizations including a hospital and boys and girls clubs.

The college also announced new 2023 Foundation officers, including chair Jeff Petrea, a director of external relations with Georgia Power; vice-chair Leslie Friedman, an independent writer and consultant; treasurer Katherine Alexander, a private wealth advisor with Synovus, and secretary Susan Bogardus, an SVP Market Executive with Bank OZK.
