Ashley Wagner helps next generation of Olympians
Ashley Wagner is one of the most decorated figure skaters in the country. But when her career was just beginning, she had had to juggle working a nine to five job in retail with the grueling and expensive training regimen required of Olympic athletes.
That’s why Wagner has joined forces with Dick’s Sporting Goods to be an ambassador for their Contenders program. The program provides Olympic hopefuls with flexible work schedules and competitive compensation that allows them to devote the necessary time for training to be considered among the best athletes in the world.
The Contenders program helps young Olympic hopefuls avoid some of the difficulties Wagner experienced during the early stages of her career.
Wagner is currently vying for a spot on the Team USA roster to punch her ticket to Pyeongchang, as she aims for for one more shot at capturing her dream of Olympic gold.
