'So grateful for this gift': Ashley Tisdale expecting first child, opens up about pregnancy

Ashley Tisdale is headed toward the suite life of parenthood.

The Disney alum – who catapulted to fame in "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" and the "High School Musical" film series – revealed on Instagram Thursday that she's expecting her first child with musician husband Christopher French.

In her reveal photo, Tisdale cradles her growing baby bump in a white flowy dress while French sweetly rests his forehead on top of the actress' head. In another picture, the parents-to-be smile while looking into each other's eyes.

"Thank you for all the love + support!" Tisdale wrote on her Instagram Story. "So overwhelming. I can't stop smiling. I love you guys so much."

French shared a similar picture on his Instagram account. On his Instagram Story, he added: "Little Frenchie is on the way."

Tisdale gave more details about her pregnancy on Friday in a post on her blog frenshe, where she opened up about the persistent personal questions she's faced over the years.

"For YEARS it has been the question from everyone since I got married," she wrote. "At first, I rebelled against it, and like clockwork, after I got engaged EVERYONE (and I mean everyone!) asked when I was getting married. Then, once I was married, everyone was asking when I was having kids. To be honest, it just felt invasive."

Tisdale added that she's "not naive about how a baby changes everything" and that she and French decided to wait until the timing was right to start growing their family.

"I’m glad I worked on myself before we decided to make this decision," she continued. "After six years of marriage, we built a strong foundation, and the timing just felt right. I gave it to God and the universe and honestly didn’t feel stressed about it and then it happened very quickly."

Tisdale's first trimester hasn't been easy though. According to the actress, she feels like she's had a "stomach flu for three months." But despite the "highs and lows during quarantine," Tisdale said she's "so grateful for this gift."

"I’m excited about this new adventure, and I’m being very optimistic with every step," she added. "Chris and I are so excited and are fully embracing and celebrating this monumental moment. I love you guys and I’m so excited to have you part of this ride!"

Tisdale and French's friends were over the moon for the expectant couple.

"Just the freaking cutest," commented Vanessa Hudgens, Tisdale's "High School Musical" co-star. Haylie Duff added, "Been waiting for this!!! can't wait! Best mama & papa combo!"

Several new moms and pregnant stars also shared some love.

"So happy for you babe! You're going to be the best mama!" wrote Lea Michele, who recently welcomed her first child with husband Zandy Reich. Emma Roberts, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend Garrett Hedlund, commented heart-eye emojis under Tisdale's post.

Tisdale, 35, and French, 38, tied the knot in 2014. They couple celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary last week on Sept. 8.

"Wow I can’t believe we’ve been married 6 years?!! Time flies," Tisdale captioned several black-and-white wedding photos. "I remember having so much fear the minute we got together because I couldnt believe how good you treated me. I had never been treated that way. But I let go and trusted my heart and 8 months later we were a couple of crazy kids engaged."

Tisdale continued: "Chris you truly have made me a better version of myself because you keep inspiring me everyday. Your heart is pure, you would do anything to make me happy, through the ups and downs you are my solid rock. I’m so grateful I get to be your wife. I love you and after all this time I’m still into you."
