ASAP Rocky Discussed During Ambassador Sondland’s Trump Impeachment Hearing Speech: Watch

Gordon D. Sondland, the American ambassador to the European Union, is testifying before Congress today (November 20) as part of the House Intelligence Committee’s impeachment inquiry. During his remarks, Sondland mentioned A$AP Rocky. “It’s true that the president speaks loudly at times, and it’s also true—I think we primarily discussed A$AP Rocky,” he said. Find footage below.

Sondland said that, while in Kiev, he and President Donald Trump discussed A$AP Rocky on the phone. In testimony earlier this month, David Holmes, an official from the United States Embassy in Kiev, recalled Sondland and Trump discussing Rocky, The New York Times reports.

This past July, A$AP Rocky was arrested in Sweden and charged with assault following an altercation with two men who were allegedly harassing him and his crew. Before he was found guilty the next month, Kanye and Kim Kardashian West lobbied President Trump to free Rocky from jail. According to The Times, David Holmes said Gordon D. Sondland told Donald Trump on the phone that Rocky “should have pled guilty.”
