St. LOUIS – The Art Hill Film Series is returning this July with two retro movies that fans chose through voting. “Back to the Future” will be shown on July 12, and “Meet Me in St. Louis” will be screened on July 19. The series is located at the Saint Louis Arts Museum.

Both of these Friday movies were selected from a list of movies by the St. Louis Community. Both weekends will include music beginning at 6 p.m. and food trucks provided by Sauce Magazine. Coolers and picnic baskets are welcome, but there will also be food and drinks available at the Panorama tent or at the museum’s café. Smoking, including vaping, is not allowed.

All films are free and will start once it gets dark around 9 p.m. Free parking and seating at the Art Hill Film Series will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

In the sci-fi hit “Back to the Future,” a mishap during an experiment sends teenager Marty McFly back to the 1950s. With the help of his quirky scientist neighbor, Doc Brown, Marty must return to his own time before he disrupts history irreversibly. The movie is rated PG and runs for 116 minutes.

In the musical comedy “Meet Me in St. Louis,” Judy Garland stars as part of the wealthy Smith family, whose lives unfold over a year leading up to the 1904 World’s Fair. Through music and dance, the Smith family’s four daughters and one son discover their paths in life. The film is 113 minutes long and unrated. Fun fact: 2024 marks the 120th anniversary of the World’s Fair.

In case of bad weather, the museum will announce any delay or cancellation on Facebook, Instagram, and slam.org.
