The character is the Flashpoint-born son of John Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla Michaels (Audrey Marie Anderson) who goes by the nickname JJ. The show will introduce the character in the future as the leader of the Deathstroke Gang, where he faces off against previously introduced next-gen vigilantes Mia Smoak (Katherine McNamara) and Connor Hawke (Joseph David-Jones), his adoptive brother. Barnett will be a series regular.

Most recently, Barnett starred alongside Natasha Lyonne in the Netflix dark comedy “Russian Doll” and in the ensemble of Lauren Morelli’s “Tales of the City” limited series continuation, also for Netflix. His next Netflix project is the second season of “You,” on which he will recur. Past television credits include “Valor,” “Secrets and Lies” and “Chicago Fire.” He is repped by Gersh and Simmons and Scott Ent., LLC.
