Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Awkward Comments on ‘Celebrity Apprentice’
On Monday’s Celebrity Apprentice, Arnold Schwarzenegger stuck his foot in his mouth while making comments about women’s fitness. The teams were tasked with selling fitness equipment on QVC, and when Carson Kressley decided not to have Lisa Leslie on-camera selling the product, Arnold questioned his thinking.
The former Mr. Universe was trying to get the point across that since Lisa is in amazing shape and was one of the top athletes in the world, it would make sense to have her selling the fitness products. Unfortunately, while Arnold was making his point, he said to Lisa, “because of you looking so fantastic at your age,” which caused everyone in the room to react, including Lisa, who just responded with, “at my age?” Special boardroom member Leeza Gibbons simply put her head down on the table in astonishment.
While the comment was a simple mistake, it was Carson’s big mistake that cost them the challenge. And because they lost so badly, Arnold decided to terminate two people. So adding insult to injury, Arnold fired Lisa and Carson and told them, “Get to the chopper.”
The Celebrity Apprentice airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
