Arnold Schwarzenegger relied on an iconic prop to unveil his new book.

On Monday, Schwarzenegger, 76, shared a video to Instagram showing himself using the sword from his 1982 movie Conan the Barbarian to break open the seal on a package containing copies of his book Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life.

"I got the first box of my books, so I brought the whole team to inspect them," he wrote in the caption to his post. The video also included Schwarzenegger showing off copies of the book to his beloved pets, including miniature pony Whiskey, donkey Lulu and pig Schnelly.

“Fantastic. Yes, Be Useful, it’s out!" Schwarzenegger said in the video clip. "The first package full of boxes [of] Be Useful, it’s out!"

“Look at this Lulu, isn’t it exciting? Whiskey, look at this,” he then said, showing a copy of the book to the animals gathered around him. “Even I need a cookie for that one,” he added, feeding the animals — and himself — cookies from the table the box was set on.

Conan the Barbarian was one of the bodybuilder-turned-actor's early successes in Hollywood. The film, directed by John Milius, was the 15th highest-grossing movie of that year at the domestic box office. Schwarzenegger reprised the role for 1984's Conan the Destroyer.

Schwarzenegger's Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life hits bookshelves next Tuesday. The book takes its title from a phrase Schwarzenegger's father frequently said while he was growing up in Austria — an edict he also shared while parenting his five children.

"Today they have very humorous stories," Schwarzenegger recently told PEOPLE, when asked how his kids — Katherine, 33, Christina, 32, Patrick, 30, and Christopher, 26, with ex Maria Shriver, and Joseph, 26, with Mildred Baena — felt about being told to "be useful" as kids.

"Katherine comes over with Lyla [her 3-year-old daughter with her husband, actor Chris Pratt], and she says, 'Lyla, I told you already not to put the shoes there. You don’t leave them there by the stand in front of the fireplace, because you know what Daddy did when I left my shoes there twice? The third time, he burned them in front of me, and I cried,' " Schwarzenegger recalled.

"The same as with Patrick. The first story he would tell you is [when he didn’t make his own bed], I opened up the door to the balcony, picked up the mattress and threw it down with the bedsheets, the pillows, everything," he added. "So there were certain moments that I did the discipline. Maria brought in the balance, but she was also very disciplined, especially with school. Funny enough, those kind of things are what they bring up all the time [now] with tremendous laughter and telling other people as a joke."

Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life is out Oct. 10, and available for preorder now on amazon.com.
