Will Arnett and Audible Team for ‘The Comedy Show Show’

Audible is adding a new audio comedy show hosted by Will Arnett to its lineup of original content. “The Comedy Show Show” debuts Friday.

In Arnett’s words, “The Comedy Show Show” will vary from episode to episode, featuring “high-concept” comedy. “‘High-concept’ meaning there’s a specific concept or gimmick behind each show,” Arnett says in the trailer below. “And that the creators were probably high or something when they came up with this stuff.” There will be stories, songs, impressions, and dirty haikus.

Arnett’s show joins pre-existing Audible comedy offerings like Nick Offerman’s “Bedtime Stories for Cynics” — featuring inappropriate kids’ stories for adults — “Hold On with Eugene Mirman,” and “Sounds Like America,” which has a rotating cast of comics like Rob Delaney delve into an American pastime to element of the zeitgeist.

“Why don’t you go ahead and slip into something more comfortable while I make sure Audible brings you some of the best live themed comedy shows from all over this big, long, fully aroused… country,” Arnett said.

In addition to “The Comedy Show Show,” Arnett’s “The Lego Batman Movie” will premiere in February, and he continues to voice the titular character in Netflix’s animated series “BoJack Horseman.”
