Armie Hammer casts a shadow over ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers' “Grand Cayman” reality show

"A lot of the trauma I have experienced in the past two years is behind me," Chambers says in a new trailer for "Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise."

Armie Hammer doesn't appear in person in the new trailer for his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers' upcoming reality series Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise — but his presence is definitely felt.

Throughout the two-and-a-half-minute video, Chambers and her castmates repeatedly reference the embattled actor, whose career imploded in 2021 amid allegations that he raped a woman and coerced others to engage in aggressive sexual activities. (He was investigated by authorities but never charged.)

"A lot of the trauma I have experienced in the past two years is behind me," Chambers says. "I went through a very public divorce. It was riddled with scandal."

The TV personality, who founded the Texas-based Bird Bakery and previously worked as a news correspondent on Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood, filed for divorce from Hammer, known for films like The Social Network and Call Me By Your Name, in July 2020, after 10 years of marriage.

Grand Cayman promises to follow the interpersonal drama between Chambers and other wealthy socialites on the titular island, which she and Hammer once called home together. "Grand Cayman has been a sanctuary for me," she says. "I moved here with my husband and children three years ago, but things have changed since then."

In one heated moment in the trailer, Courtney McTaggart says that "Elizabeth thought I was one of Armie's chicks," adding, "You're accusing me of sleeping with your ex-husband."

In a confessional, Chambers fumes, "I hate this. Why are we making it about Armie?"

Hammer dropped out of several acting projects after being engulfed in scandal and has kept a relatively low profile in recent years. He denied the allegations against him, and last year the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office opted not to file sexual assault charges after a "thorough review" by prosecutors.

But the Grand Cayman trailer suggests that he will continue to be a topic of conversation, at least on the show. "No one is saying Armie Hammer is a saint, but there could be a lot more to the story than people know," McTaggart muses.

In another moment toward the end of the trailer, Chambers insists, "Only I know the truth."
