Sometimes you have to give the people what they (almost) want — so Hollywood heartthrobs Armie Hammer and Joe Manganiello are doing just that. ICYMI, on Friday, Geoff Johns (co-head of DC Films) and Manganiello (soon to play Deathstroke in an upcoming Batman movie) started following Hammer on Twitter, and Hammer reciprocated. It didn’t take long for fans to notice the social media love fest and speculation began that Hammer would be joining the DC universe — most likely as Hal Jordan, aka Green Lantern, since such other options as Aquaman, Superman, and the Flash had already been snapped up.

Manganiello and Hammer then began teasing fans every way they could without actually confirming anything at all. They decided to stick with tried-and-true social media posts. On Thursday, Sofia Vergara’s hubby took to Instagram to share a snapshot from what appears to be a very luxe kitchen setup. In the pic, he and Hammer stare thoughtfully at an iPad perched on the counter.

“Burning the midnight oil with my man @armiehammer #espresso,” Manganiello captioned the snap.

Shortly after, Manganiello followed this up with a repost of a pic that Hammer’s wife had initially shared showing the happy couples lounging near a couch and looking delighted to be together. “Solving all the world’s problems,” the Bird Bakery founder originally explained. It’s also worth noting that Vergara looked like she was having a grand time and didn’t appear to be the slightest bit distracted by the latest attempt by her ex, Nick Loeb, to win the right to put their two remaining female embryos into a surrogate and raise the children on his own.

But this wasn’t the first time Manganiello and Hammer had teased (or trolled, depending on one’s perspective) fans about the impending announcement. Over the weekend, Hammer shot off a series of tweets promising:

The next day, Hammer added a tweet revealing both that he and Manganiello had recently spent time together and also that they would be spending more time together soon. (It’s safe to say that the future time together was probably reflected in the later Instagram shots, hanging out with their wives.) Manganiello replied to the 30-year-old star with a message of “congrats.” Congrats for what, exactly? He didn’t say.

It could be “congrats” on landing a double date with Manganiello and Vergara (because that’s something to be proud of, for sure) or “congrats” on just being sexy … but fans are certainly hoping it has something to do with a certain role previously played by a certain actor who is now married to a certain actress named Blake Lively.
