I’m not exactly sure what side of the fence everyone is sitting on these days with Ariana Madix. The breakout (thanks to her breakup) star of Vanderpump Rules has a legion of fans. That doesn’t mean she isn’t without haters, though.

After being cheated on by longtime partner Tom Sandoval with friend and fellow castmate Rachel Leviss, Ariana became a household name. She received multiple sponsorships and appeared on Dancing with the Stars. She even broke records on Broadway as Roxie Hart in Chicago.

But with all that success comes fandom fatigue. And she hasn’t exactly had the best season on VPR. There’s no doubt that she’s in demand for the show but does she want it? PEOPLE has the details.

Ariana wants the show to stay authentic

While promoting her latest book, Single AF Cocktails, Ariana addressed a Pump Rules return. “I can’t or I won’t say [if I’m returning] but I think that ultimately, it would have to make sense for me,” she explained.

“Our show has always thrived, it’s always at its best when it is at its most authentic and its most real, and I have to be able to show up and be real and be authentic in order for it to make sense for me,” she added. “So that’s the question I would be asking myself going into it.”

Would Season 12 of VPR even work?

That is all assuming that VPR gets renewed for Season 12, which we all know it will. But the challenge for the cast will be filming, much like it has for the current season. Ariana has drawn a hard line in the sand against being friends with anyone who maintains a friendship with her ex. Despite being the biggest star on the show now, continuing down that road will likely cost Ariana screen time and even fans.

Which is something that the SURver is well aware of. “We’ve been taught not to be comfortable with things like female rage. We’ve been taught that we have to be like smiling and palatable for everyone in order to be likable,” Ariana stated a few weeks ago.

“Likability in my opinion is a complete and total myth anyways.”

Vanderpump Rules Season 11 continues Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
